Reduce Noise Before Recording
Turn off fans, TVs, loud computers, air conditioners, and anything that creates background noise. Record away from bare walls, windows, corners, and reflective surfaces when possible.
Use Consistent Mic Distance
Keep your mouth a steady distance from the mic. Start around 6 to 8 inches with a pop filter, then adjust based on your voice, room, and mic type.
Set Input Gain Correctly
Avoid clipping. Keep your loudest vocal parts safely below 0 dB. A clean recording with headroom gives EQ, compression, tuning, and presets more room to work.
Check Sample Rate & Buffer Size
Set your audio device, sample rate, buffer size, and input channel before recording. Lower buffer sizes are better for recording; higher buffer sizes can help mixing.
Install Required Plugins First
Before opening a template or preset chain, make sure all required stock or third-party plugins are installed and activated. Missing plugins can change the sound or break the chain.
Save A Fresh Session Copy
When opening a template, save a new version before recording. This keeps the original template clean and lets you build each song without overwriting the setup.
